European Tugowners Association

 

Based in Brussels the European Tugowners Association is an organisation whose aim is to advance and promote the interest of owners and operators of tugs serving vessels calling at European coastal ports and coastal port areas. 

 

The Association is looking to strengthen its team with a Communication and Policy Officer, who will manage the following tasks:

Communication:

  • Upgrade and manage the ETA website
  • Assisting in the implementation of the communication strategy
  • Write and edit the communication products (news summaries for ETA members and press releases & articles for external communication)
  • Managing the social media profiles and establish ETA digitally on different fora
  • Create visually engaging infographics to strengthen the online presence of ETA (candidates experienced with infographics will be preferred

Policy:

  • Research and prepare regular policy updates on key areas of interest for our members
  • Update the calendar of events of EU institutions activities pertinent to the ETA priorities
  • Identify activities of interest through monitoring the work of relevant committees and sections of EU Institutions (opinions, events, consultations, and projects)

 Administration:

  • Assist in general administrative duties and the smooth running of the office
  • Maintain databases (experience with Mailchimp and Access is required)
  • Post and book invoices into Sage
  • Managing membership relations and requests
  • Assist in the organisation of the annual event and other events organised by ETA

 Profile sought:

  • A dynamic professional with at least 3 years of experience in communication and policy related tasks
  • Have excellent communication and research skills
  • Have good organisational and IT skills and have the ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of current challenges in the field of maritime transport is highly appreciated
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and/or other online design tools is essential
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and Mailchimp
  • Knowledge of financial packages such as Sage
  • Native level of spoken and written English and two other European languages (preferably French and Dutch).
