EUROMOT is the European association of internal combustion engines and represents the interests of more than 40 globally operating and leading manufacturers. The products of our member companies are the power source in a vast range of industrial applications, such as agricultural and construction machinery, marine vessels, rail vehicles, outdoor power equipment and stationary installations for heat and power generation.

For our office in Brussels we are seeking for a

Manager Technical and Regulatory Affairs

reporting to the General Secretary.

The scope and influence is both internal and external.


  • Follows closely the European and global regulatory activities on environmental legislation relevant for our industry

  • Identifies demand for the association to contribute technical expertise to ongoing or upcoming regulatory processes

  • Supports our technical and advocacy experts' groups and actively contributes to developing technology and policy positions for the national, EU and global regulatory framework and in facilitating their communication to regulators and stakeholders

  • Develops and executes advocacy approaches and strategies

  • Establishes and further develops relationships with European institutions and international stakeholders and partner associations

  • Represents the association at EU and worldwide meetings and conferences

  • Proactively expands the range of services provided to our members

  • Contributes to the content of our Newsletter, Website and other Media



  • Drives lobbying activities and influences regulations/policies in the areas of EU environment legislation, in order to actively promote and safeguard our members’ business interests towards the European Institutions and international organizations

  • Represents EUROMOT in meetings with European Institutions and international organizations

  • Assists the General Secretary in EU meetings, including preparation of strategic messaging

  • Develops and manages extensive network or key contacts in EU Institutions and Brussels and international stakeholder communities and liaise with organizations all over the world sharing common objectives in terms of emissions and environmental policies

  • Represents EUROMOT in the Brussels/EU arena, vis-à-vis decision makers, trade associations and other interest groups as well as speaks in panel debates

  • Gives occasionally presentations towards EU stakeholders or external visitors



  • Master’s degree in engineering, science or related fields. We also encourage candidates with a Master degree in European Affairs or equivalent qualification in the regulatory affairs sector with a past exposure to or a natural interest in mechanical engineering and technology.

  • 5-7 years of experience in a consultancy, EU institution, trade association or other applicable professional environment

  • Solid understanding of the decision-making process in the EU and in the various decision bodies affecting regulations

  • Excellent knowledge of EU procedures

  • Expertise within the environment policy field; specific knowledge of policy and regulatory developments related to air quality is an asset

  • Be able to speak to large public audiences (e.g. panel debates in the European Parliament)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and very good linguistic skills on one or more additional European languages

  • Strong collaboration skills, proactive, networker, a positive can-do attitude and hands-on mentality

  • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office software and cloud-based systems, strong interest in any IT related matters

  • Willing to regularly travel within the EU and worldwide
